Tourist Place Nabadwip, Mayapur, Hazarduari & Plassey



Nabadwip (also Navadwip, Navadvipa or Nabadwipdham) is a city and a municipality in Nadia district in the Indian state of West Bengal. Its name means "9 islands" in the Bengali language. The islands are named Antardwip , Simantadwip, Rudradwip, Madhyadwip, Godrumdwip, Ritudwip, Jahnudwip, (...) 



Mayapur, a sacred place is known for its temple and calm and clean river coast. It is at the confluence of the holy River Ganges where the people come to take a holy dip in the River. It has a silvery and calm coastline that provides an ideal weekend gateway. There are many temples that are not only visited by the local people but also by the pilgrims from the adjoining areas as well. Mayapur is basically a spiritual and religious place. Mayapur is one of the best place to relax and rejuvenate oneself from the maddening crowd of the city. With a calm and satisfying climate, the riverside picturesque makes Mayapur a place worth visiting.Sit by the river watch the sunset or enjoy the boat rides in the Ganges, there is enough that Mayapur offers to keep tourists on their toes.  Places to visit in Mayapur-
Iskcon Chandrodaya Temple- a wonderful place for the devotees of Lord Krishna and attracts lot of tourists from all over the world. The ambience of the temple is full of peace and serenity. The marvelous work of the temple and the tranquil atmosphere pulls the tourists to come and explore the place.
Sri Chaitanya Math- this is the Math that is dedicate to Lord Chaitanya and in this place feeds and give shelter to the needy and orphanage. Every day thousands of people are feed here which is termed as Bhog made in a very simple way but quite delicious.
Yoga Peeth-  it is a very attractive place which is the main focus of Mayapur. It is a temple that has been built at the birth place of Mahaprabhu Chaitanya. It also serves as a yoga centre where yoga, Vedas and meditation has been taught. The temple also has an idol of Radha Madava and Chaitanya Mahaprabhu.  
Chand Kazis Samadhi- it is a burial place of Chand Kazi who was a magistrate. He had been buried in this place and he used to believe in Muslin religion during his lifetime. But later he became a follower of Chaitanya. This is the place which will surely raise ones eyebrow.
 How to reach the place
By AIR There is no direct flight to Mayapur. Therefore Kolkata is the nearest Airdrome of Mayapur. Taxi or cab is always available from Airport. It takes around 4 hrs approx to reah there.
By TRAIN Howrah and Burdwan is the nearest rail head of Mayapur. From the station taxi is available. It takes few hours to reach Mayapur by taxi.
By BUS Regular bus services are available from all parts of West Bengal. Mayapur is well connected to all parts of the city through the bus route.
 An ideal time to visit Mayapur
Mayapur has a pleasant climate throughout the year. But the tourist must not visit during the rainy season that is during July- August. Therefore leaving these two months the tourists can visit the place anytime of the year.





One of the least trodden hamlet in the West Bengal, Murshidabad is a stunning offbeat tourists destination which is primarily an agriculture district with rich historical and cultural background. It has lot of tourists spots such as historical palaces, buildings, mosque, temples etc. it is basically a historical place that attracts large number of tourists every year.  Places for sightseeing
There is a plethora of sightseeing in Murshidabad. These are the following places to visit in Murshidabad.
Hazarduari palace- it is the palace with thousand doors. It has a banquet hall with mirrors and circular Durbar Hall. It has an excellent architectural work and startling interiors that has been a museum now days with 1000 doors.
Katra mosque- it is few km away from the Railway station with the gorgeous building having huge domes and high minarets.  It is such a beautiful place that one must visit the place.
Kathgola- it is a palace with a garden and the place is the home to the renowned Adinath Temple. That is just half a km away from this place. The temple has a rich religious and cultural heritage. It is typically decorated in Jain style that one must not forget to visit.
Wasef Manzil- it is a beautiful palace that exhibit the colonial grandeur and royal allure of the yesteryears. This stunning place has been turned to a museum now that has lots of astounding and amazing statues. The beauty of the place makes the tourists spell bound.
Nizamat Imambara- it was built by Shiraj-ud-Doula that had been destructed in fire but was again reconstructed. It is conceivably the largest Imambara in Bengal.
 How to reach Murshidabad
By AIR Kolkata Airport serves the region and it is the most likely option if one is travelling by air. Kolkatas Airport is well linked with all the countries and states. Taxi or cab is available from Kolkata airport.
By TRAIN Berhampore Court is the main station of Murshidabad. There are regular train services from Kolkata and other cities of West Bengal.
By BUS There are regular bus services from Kolkata and both private and state bus is available from Kolkata and all the other parts of West Bengal.
 Best time to visit Murshidabad
It has hot and humid climate in most of the time of the year.  The best time to visit the place is in winter and spring- between October- April for the tourists as Murshidabad has a pleasant climate during this months.           



History: 
Plassey is a place of great historical importance. In 1757 a battle was fought between British and last nawab of Bengal, Bihar and Orissa. Siraj –ud-daula the nawab was defeated and later killed and Mir Zaffer who ditched Siraj-ud-daula and became the British agent was made Nawab.
The place to see at Plassey is nothing but the memorial which was erected by Lord Curzon at the mango grove where the actual battle of Plassey took place.

Rail: Trains from Sealdah station to Lal Gola station, the border of India and Bangladesh goes towards Plassey.
Road: Plassey can be accessible by road from Murshidabad as Plassey is 28 Km from Murshidabad towards Kolkata.
